Where the Sharavathi River approaches the Arabian Sea, a network of waterways creates a beautiful backwater landscape of mangroves, river islands, coconut groves and fishing settlements. Boat routes vary by tide, season and operator. Late afternoon trips can offer especially good light, but weather and water conditions should always be checked.
